In 1987 the Dutchman Richard Schütte founded his own wholesale business with the support of his wife Ellen Steentjes. In 1991 he launched the first collection under the Chivasso brand name. With their passion for high-quality design, the two founders had a plan to create an innovative-casual collection. With this idea they met the zeitgeist of the 90s. Since the integration into the JAB Anstoetz fabric division in 2000, the brand has massively accelerated into the International Market. Today there are showrooms all over the world. In addition, internationally renowned interior designers, interior architects, furniture stores and interior decorators run the extensive range. In 2017, Richard Schütte retired from the brand after successfully handing over the company to today’s creative studio. Since then, the studios have been located at the headquarters of the JAB Anstoetz Group and at other European locations.
THE BRAND
Chivasso’s philosophy is characterised by a forward-looking, open and imaginative attitude, influenced by its Dutch origins. The style is casual and smart. We have remained true to our values to this day: interior design is our passion and curiosity is our motivation. In short: we love what we do and we live our style. Our products are defined by innovative concepts, imaginative creations with an independent character and high-class, long-lasting qualities.
