With backgrounds that are firmly rooted in antique Oriental carpets and fine art, Farr and his business partner Matthew Bourne share a passionate knowledge of contemporary design that informs their work. Working with master craftsmen in India, Afghanistan and Turkey, Farr and Bourne have developed an unrivalled range of handmade qualities including the finest silk and hand-spun, hand dyed wools using traditional techniques.
Christopher Farr have collaborated with leading artists and designers from across the globe, including Gary Hume, Sarah Morris, Georgina Von Etzdorf, Andrée Putman, John Pawson and Claudio Silvestrin. They also have an ongoing collaboration with the Josef and Anni Albers foundation and continue to seek out further exciting projects that challenge their medium whilst also respecting the history and traditions of the craft.
