Micasa x STEP
Micasa was founded in Zurich in 1981. Conceived as Migros’ furniture store, our aim then as now was to bring good design to as many people as possible.
An important part of our product portfolio is the large selection of carpets. As a proud partner of the STEP label, we are therefore committed to fair trade in handmade carpets.
This means that the Fair Trade rules apply to our entire range of handmade rugs.
Micasa undertakes to disclose all suppliers and commissions the STEP label to regularly visit and inspect their production facilities. In close cooperation with all partners, working conditions are improved step by step.
Design that gives lasting pleasure
Good design is only really good if it’s good for everyone and cares about our planet. As we chart a path for our sustainability work, we also look at everything we do through this lens. From the longevity of our designs to the materials we use, the spaces we occupy and the company we keep – we scrutinize our actions in every area. In doing so, we identify what we can do differently to minimize our impact on the environment while continuing to create purposeful and inspiring designs that make us all feel good.
